It was not an easy day at the Duck – the wind was from most directions. The Pink Bits was certainly slow and difficult to control during the early races. The more simple Tx controls on my old version 5 hull seemed a lot more user friendly. Thanks to Mike and Col I now have way better steerage on the V6 and the A+ rig in much better tune. Thank you guys. This sort of support makes sailing at the Duck pretty special.
Thanks Kermit. Very educational, and to think that I have only used duct tape. Of course my version 5 still leaks!!
Nice job Kermit. How about a few words on how you fixed the nose?
Looking good.
Col, great start to sorting out a couple of the issues that have been raised by some of our sailors, including the Pink one.
Are there any reasonably standard sets of rules being used by other similar RC yachting groups that we could look at discussing over coffee after one of our racing sessions at the Duck?
All we need to know is that Pink rules!!
The photo is of John Tushingham (I think) at his recent Nationals.
The early BOM forecast suggests that Tuesday will be a hot one so the early start will be appreciated.
Great idea Col. I will be there with the white flyer. Maybe with some tweaks I will be able to keep the red hulls in sight!!
A great day at the Duck. Thanks to all involved.
Nah, I will just look at your wind indicator each time you lap me!!
How about the addition of a large hot pink wind indicator on each boat with black sails??
The sails look great.
I highly doubt it!! “Bad boy” black may well help you blend in to the dark banks at the Duck, so the rest of us will have to help you stay honest.
Thanks Mike and Col for the superb reports on sailing at the “Duck”and the website upgrade the enables a computer near illiterate to read and even make an occasional post. Also thank you to all the RC sailors at both the Duck and the Canal for making sailing and racing fun again.
I wish you all a merry and safe Christmas break and look forward to more good times in the new year.
