Great vids Gadget. Thanks! Those boats were really moving fast today.

Yep. I should fess up at this point. The faulty spreadsheet was my doing. A formula not dragged down to the bottom of the table. All working now though!

Say is that spreadsheet working properly? Ray Phillips appears in the combined results but not in the DF65 only results????

It’s called a ‘gate start’. But only really works well when the fleet is large, the first leg is directly to windward and a fairly long leg too. So would be hard to do at PD. I reckon that at PD the start boat (which is sometimes called ‘the rabbit’ or ‘pathfinder’ as I remember) may  have overlayed the windward mark by the time that the fleet has ducked behind its stern. Interesting thought though!

Good video Ron. Your hat cam videos are more professional than my best efforts with a tripod!

Rare to get a lot of wind like this at the vineyard. Would have been great to watch! I wish I had been there!

Yep. Good call I think Bodge. But does this mean that the following Wednesday (2nd May) is still for DF95’s or will it be DF65’s??????

Hi Phil. I went down back to Puddleduck this morning to pick up my transmitter! Could have run over that hatch cover as I swung in to the carpark – didn’t. Could have stepped on it in my great big boots – didn’t. But it was right by my feet as I got out of the car. Still in perfect order! I have got it now and will bring it out for you next fortnight. If you want to get it sooner then give me a call. 0400 744 231.

Now who would be silly enough to leave their transmitter behind$ Ooooo0ooooo Now, where is my transmitter? Oh dear!

And it did work really well. It is surprising how great a distraction turning off the timer can be if you are the one doing it in the vital seconds after the start. Well done Ron.

Yep! I made the post all by myself today. You’ve got to be impressed Mike!

Very interested to note that the order of finishers changes once the RG65’s are separated from the fleet. (Ron beats Dave with fleets separated but Dave beats Ron when all together.) Didn’t think that would happen but the sheet is working quite correctly. Sounds like a good day!

    Hi Phil

It sounds like you did a good thing getting to a doctor. I wish you a speedy and full recovery and hope that you will rejoin the crew at the vineyard soon. (Always OK to bring yourself a chair along if it helps too.)

    Cheers Shorty

    Hi Team

Dave you are absolutely correct. You did sent me out to rummage through my garbage bin which was street side as tonight is the night and I am guessing that all the neighbours were watching but I did retrieve a rather soggy results sheet and as you know rightly recalled Trout came second in the last race! So corrected results are attached. And my apologies to anyone affected. So:

Geoff still wins the day! Congratulations again Geoff!

Trout takes 2nd spot. Well done Phil and sorry for my error.

And Dave Woolley completes the podium. Really good sailing Sheep!

Thanks also to Phil Turnbull who also alerted me to this.

    Cheers

    Shorty
